Homemade Cerelac

  • Raagi 1/2 kg
  • Wheat 200gms
  • Parboiled rice (puzhungal ari)200gms
  • Groundnuts 50gms
  • Roasted bengalgram (pottukadala) 200gm
  • Moong dal 200gms
  • Barley 200gms
  • Sago 200gms
  • Cashew 15gms
  • Badam 15gms
  • Dry ginger 5 gms
  • Ajwain 50gms
Sun dry and dry roast each ingredient seperaretly. Grind then all together.Then sieve and store well in an air tight container.

To prepare the porridge:
  • Homemade cerelac powder 2tsp
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Sugar/ Jaggery/ Salt to taste
Mix the above ingredients and boil well. Stir occasionally. Cool and serve when its still lukewarm.

Feed 1 time a day from 4 to 7 months. After 7 months you can feed twice a day. Look for reactions to certain pulses. Avoid the pulse which is causing the reaction.
