Jeera Aloo

  • Potato 4
  • Oil 2tsp
  • Mustard 1tsp
  • Black cumin 1tsp
  • Fennel seeds 1/4tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1tsp
  • Chilli powder 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  • Green Chilli 2 (slit into half)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Coriander leaves 2tsp (finely chopped)

Peel potatoes and cut into medium size pieces.

Heat a kadai. Add oil and crack mustard, fennel, cumin & aniseed in it.

Now add potatoe pieces and saute for 2 min.

Add green chilli, turmeric powder, chilli powder and enough water and cook till the potatoes are done.

Dry the aloo on low flame if any water is left.

Remove from flame and garnish with coriander.

Methi 'n' Peanuts


  • Methi leaves 3 bunch
  • Ground nuts 1/2 cup (roasted and powdered)
  • Green Chilli 3
  • Garlic(chopped) 1tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • oil 2 tsp


Clean methi leaves.

Heat oil and splutter cumin seeds.

Add Garlic and saute.

Add methi leaves and salt. Cook covered till done.

Add groundnut powder, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.

Serve hot with chapati or rice.

Paneer Butter Masala

  •     Tomatoes 3
  •     Onion 2
  •     Paneer 250g
  •     Bay leaf 1
  •     Cloves 2
  •     Ginger Garlic paste 1tbsp
  •     Red Chilli powder 1tsp
  •     Cashewnut paste 3tbsp
  •     Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  •     Corriander powder 1tsp
  •     Kasuri methi 1/2 tsp
  •     Garam masala 2tsp
  •     Salt to taste
  •     Butter 3tbsp
  •     Fresh Cream 3tbsp
  •     Corriander leaves to garnish

Blanch onion and tomato and puree them seperately.

Saute paneer in 1tbsp of ghee and put it into 1 cup of hot water with a pinch of salt and turmeric in it(thic will keep the paneer soft).

Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan. Add bay leaf and cloves. Then add onion paste and saute till light brown. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till it looses the raw smell.

Add chilli powder followed by cashew paste and fry for 5 mins.

Add tomato puree, crushed kasuri methi, corriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt. Stir and let it simmer for a while.

Add paneer and simmer for 5 min. Add a small cup of water and let it cook on medium heat till it reaches the desired consistency.

Add remaining butter& cream. Garnish with corriander leaves.
